It's hard to describe a company that has that "extra something" but here at Uni-Pac, we know what it is and are confident that we've got it. In order for our business and for our partnerships to thrive, we believe it's vital for all of our departments, including office staff, warehouse, quality, and production to work together seamlessly. Not only are we committed to quality assurance, high standards and customer satisfaction, but we also believe that a healthy work environment, responsible sourcing, sustainability, and support for our community are critical for our business growth and success.

History

Uni-Pac was established in 1995 when our founding partners identified a need for just-in-time inspection and packaging projects. At this time, 5000 square feet of space was rented at 609 Eastern Avenue to be close to our customer’s production facilities in order to maximize project turnaround time and reduce transportation costs. Our production staff at that time mainly consisted of stay-at-home mothers who worked while their children were in school, and our production orders began with LTL (less than truckload) size orders. As our orders became more consistent and our staff grew to 16 people, plans began for construction of our own facility in 1997.

Over time, a second shift was added, additional production lines were added, and new machinery was purchased. In 2013, a 120,000 square foot climate-controlled addition was completed which included new offices, a new break room, and a kitchen for our team. Today, Uni-Pac's facility spans over 200,000 square feet and our growth continues.

technology

If you tour our facility you'll notice our forklift drivers scanning materials and entering data into their laptops. In addition, you’ll witness team members in every department using the barcode scanners and software to track and monitor each job. We embrace technology, and technology is integrated into all aspects of our packaging and fulfillment operations.

We utilize cutting edge software solutions to help us to monitor and integrate production, inventory & order management, materials planning, quoting, pricing, billing, financial reporting, labor management, performance, climate control and quality control.

Everything we do has a procedure, and alerts are triggered if anything were to fall outside our process. Embracing technology helps us continue to deliver the efficient, high quality contract packaging services that Uni-Pac has become known for.

quality

Quality assurance is about details. As a contract packaging supplier, we are aware of the importance and trust placed in us to ensure the quality of every customer’s product.  We take that responsibility seriously and have established formal quality systems and processes to assure an attention to detail that exceeds all regulatory and customer requirements.

Our process ensures that quality is monitored all the way through the production process. Our quality group audits and performs checks before, during and after every project and every detail is cleared by two quality techs before it leaves the warehouse. Often, our customers have specific quality, sorting and inspection needs. Our team is always willing to meet your specific needs and provide custom solutions to your unique quality requirements.

Community involvement

Uni-Pac is currently one of Allegan, Michigan's top 5 largest employers.  We are committed to being a company our team of employees are proud to work for and proud of the fact that most of our employees were referred to us by other employees. We encourage charitable giving within our community through a variety of programs and initiatives. In addition to our local efforts, we also support several national organizations. Some of the organizations Uni-Pac and it's employees regularly support are the following:

Salvation Army – Angel Tree Christmas gift collection

We participate with The Salvation Army and the Angel Tree drive annually. Last year our donations contributed toward providing Christmas for many children and families.

Uni-Pac also makes contributions to 4-H Camp Kidwell, a summer camp for children located in Southwest Michigan. We are proud to be able to invest in our community and help make the Allegan area a great place to live and work.
